DIY Natural Face Wash, Toner, and Moisturizer Recipes

DIY face wash, toner, and moisturizer recipes
As a holistic wellness crunchy, I’m really careful about what I put on my skin. Chemicals that are put on your skin can be absorbed into your blood stream within the first 26 seconds of application. Thus making products like natural face wash, toner, and moisturizer important for limiting our chemical exposure. For years I searched for natural products that didn’t have filler ingredients I couldn’t pronounce, but also didn’t cost as much as my mortgage. Finally about a year ago I started making my own face wash, toner, and moisturizer. I love the control it gives me over the exact ingredients and how I can customize it to the needs of my skin.

These are the recipes I use to make my own DIY natural face wash, toner, moisturizer, and spot treatment

Supplies:

These are the supplies I use and recommend. If you make substitutes some things to keep in mind:

  • Pump bottles are easier to use for face wash and atomizer (spray/mister) bottles are easier to use for toner and moisturizer.
  • You’ll tend to go through the face wash about twice as the toner and moisturizer thus the 8 oz and 4 oz differences.
  • Any brand or scent of castile soap will work, but the liquid soap is easier to work with and rose is soothing to the skin.
  • Any brand or scent witch hazel will work, but be sure to get alcohol-free so it doesn’t dry out your skin.
  • Be sure you get aloe vera juice, not gel. The juice is much more watery and absorbs into your skin faster.
  • Any carrier oil is fine, but hemp seed is my carrier of choice for how it nourishes the skin.
